Great post.

Some of my “alter-ego” acquaintances do know my real name and I know some of their names as well.

I generally sign an email to someone from this community that I actually “know” and trust with my real first initial. Like I think I did when I emailed you(?)

For general emails to/from people who I don’t really “know” I usually sign with the abbreviation “SXC” or something similar.

I think you should sign your emails with what *you* are comfortable using.

Any sex toy correspondence is sent from my rockinwithacockin at gmail address, so I just sign it Rockin’ even if I know the person knows my name. Even if I’m replying to an email that was “Dear (real name)”. Just because I can. I try to be polite in my emails, and I’d hope I don’t blow it by signing with my pseudonym.

I sign as Epiphora unless the person I am corresponding with starts calling me by my real name (having gleaned it from my address). Even then, though, I’d really prefer that they keep calling me Epiphora, so sometimes I continue signing as Epiphora hoping they’ll get the point, heh.
