I definitely have Domme tendencies, but I wish books and pop culture would show a broader range of what constitutes femdom behavior. A lot of the time I get the “I’m not going to wear a dominatrix outfit or slap a guy in the face while asking him to lick my boots, so I’m not a real Domme” feeling, and it’s very limiting and frustrating.

In reply to DominaDoll. I no doubt there are many sissy boys, perhaps that is even the majority and for those submissives and the Dommes who love them, this book would undoubtedly be a better fit. And domestic dominance in itself is something I can respect, even if it's not for me but my issue is with her specific and erroneous description of female domination as a type of Domestic Discipline. DD, by its very nature, does not allow for female domination. Somehow, Lorelei has found a group of people who have altered the traditional definition and this can be misleading. And even if I agreed with her view of things, that is only one aspect of female domination so someone expecting this to more of a general guide (like myself) will be sorely disappointed.

Hmmm. What about sissy boys and domestic dominance? That definitely applies to female dominance? I have had more sissy men beg me to make them clean my house, than I have ever had from a submissive woman. (Actually, most women who I have forced to clean my toilet do so kicking and screaming!)

And, I do think those archetypal roles are quite common. Perhaps not your kink, or mine, but definitely someones. Which is why they are popular in erotic bdsm fiction and films.

I do agree that the tone is off-putting though, as it is constructed around a Femdom/male sub ideology, so is very restrictive in terms of applying to everyone and being universal.

In reply to Kayla. The way I see things (and I'm never wrong ;)) is that the world itself is just a little kinkier than it used to be so things like nipple pinching? Everyone does. Then again, maybe I'm kinky enough that I assume that? I know you've read some other BDSM books so I wouldn't recommend this for you.

To be honest, I’d have to agree with the nipple pinching. It may not be indicative of someone wanting to be in a full-time BDSM relationship, but it usually does mean they’d enjoy giving up power.

Either way, great review. I’ve actually never even read this book.
