In reply to Beck. Beck is correct. You can do anything you want when you PAY for hosting. WordPress often confuses people because you can sign up on WordPress.com or download the script from WordPress.org and then install it to your own site.

Thanx for this even if it’s worded above my personal web vocabulary. I actually especially like the comment by @Juliettia mentioning that WordPress doesn’t allow affiliates because they are a large part of my motivation.

One think to note is that if you choose to use free webhosting with blogger or wordpress make sure you read their TOS. With blogger you’re supposed to enable the adult filter click through if you have adult content, which is super annoying. With wordpress.com you are not allowed to advertise or use affiliate links.
