I wasn’t expecting The One Wand to be quite so small. I mean, it’s not tiny, but some wands are behemoths (I’m looking at you, Magic Wand Original). In comparison, this wand is sleeker. That’s due in part to it being coated in a layer of silky silicone. It’s not a lint magnet and won’t have as much drag as some silicone toys. The appearance is sleek because of this. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the curves on this wand remind me of a person with the angles next to the neck, something like a purple 80s blazer.
You’ll also notice a distinct lack of cord because this is a rechargeable vibrator, unlike most of the wands I’ve tried. And that silicone coating? Makes it waterproof, so you can take it in the shower. Super easy to clean, too. The Hitachi can’t compete with that.
This vibrator is also smaller and less cumbersome than its competition. Overall, The One Wand is less than 9 inches long. The head is around 1.7″ wide, and it’s relatively light to wield. It feels more like an internal vibrator than a massager.
What you can’t see is the flexibility of the neck. This wand isn’t as floppy as the double-headed wand I just reviewed, but the head is probably too flexible for my tastes. At least I don’t want to worry about it breaking. I also find the shape of the head leaves a little to be desired. I like my wands to have more of a flat-top head than a round one, and while The One Wand veers toward flat-ish, it lacks the edge I prefer, like the Miracle Massager.
I do like the design of the three buttons, which are easy to find and press and know you’ve pressed them. That isn’t always the case with controls. They’re easy to use, too. The center button turns the wand on and off, and the + cycles through the ten settings, or you can press – to cycle the other way. This means you don’t have to go through every mode if you press the button one too many times.
As for those settings, three are steady vibration. While the product description calls them rumbly, I think they’re more middle of the road The highest steady vibration setting is definitely edging toward buzzier. That wouldn’t necessarily be a dealbreaker, but the vibrations just aren’t that strong.
After trying the first setting, I hoped there would be more than three continuous modes. I worried I would be disappointed otherwise. I was correct. After trying them all, I thought, “This is it?” They’re more like what you’d expect from an internal vibrator. And for a wand-type vibrator, you expect strong.
The vibrations do have enough power to make the seven pulsation and escalation modes that follow quite punchy, if you’re the type who likes them. I’ve always been about continuous vibrations myself.
I can’t say that I agree it is the one “and only” wand you’ll ever need. It’s just not strong enough for everything, and people like me will benefit from a different size and shape. With that said, it’s a nice vibe. If you want something for clitoral stimulation and aren’t picky, The One Wand could be a good option.
